Bank SinoPac, a wholly owned subsidiary of SinoPac Financial Holdings Company Limited (SinoPac Holdings), was established through a merger between Bank SinoPac and International Bank of Taipei on November 13, 2006. Founded as Taipei Mutual Loans and Savings Co. on May 4, 1948, the institution was reorganized as Taipei Business Bank in 1978 and later transformed into a commercial bank under the name International Bank of Taipei on May 14, 1998. Over the decades, it focused on serving SMEs and built a strong customer base. International Bank of Taipei was merged with SinoPac Holdings through a share swap, officially becoming a wholly owned subsidiary of SinoPac Holdings on December 26, 2005. Bank SinoPac and its subsidiaries employ around 7,000 employees, with paid-in capital exceeding NT$103.7 billion and total assets of about NT$2.7 trillion. In addition to 125 domestic branches (including the Business Department) and an Offshore Banking Unit, Bank SinoPac operates overseas branches in Hong Kong, Kowloon, Macau, Los Angeles, and Ho Chi Minh City, along with a representative office in Vietnam.
